Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Manuscript must be submitted through online submission by registered users. You can easily register in the journal system. If you need help, do not hesitate to contact us fk@upnjatim.ac.id.

 

General Principles

All articles submitted in Medicospehere must be original work, which has never been published or submitted previously to other journal. The articles must follow “Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals” (http://www.icmje.org/), which was established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Editorial Board may revise the articles submitted in aspects of style, format, and clarity. Authors should revise their manuscripts for reasons of any aspects due to editors’ comment.

 

We accept four types of articles: (1) original articles: basic medical researchclinical research, or community research; (2) evidence-based case report (3) case report; (4) literature review. We have special section to publish disaster medicine articles. Authors may submit their articles in format of the four types of articles below. 

 

Authors must submit several supplementary materials, as follows:

  1. Cover letter

Cover letter should be addressed to the Editor-in-chief of Medicosphere. This letter should include statement about the outline of the articles (must written briefly in 1 paragraph). The authors should also state that the articles has not published elsewhere in a same time. The first author should sign this cover letter and provide corresponding addres and email.  

  1. Copy of ethical approval

Ethical approval must be submitted for articles involving human or animals as a subjects. 

 

Preparing Main Manuscript Text

  • Use double line spacing
  • Include line and page numbering
  • Use SI units
  • Do not use page breaks or more than one column in your manuscripts 
  • The size of the paper should in A4 (21 cm x 29,7 cm).
  • Times New Roman 12 with margin 2,54 cm of all sides.
  • The articles must in Microsoft word (DOC, DOCX) format.
  • Articles must be submitted in the following structural order: title page and authorship, abstracts, keyword, text, conflicts of interest, acknowledgement (if any), funding disclosure, tables and figures. 

 

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should be written concisely in 250 words for original articles. It should contain 

background and purpose of the study; methods (design study, number of subject and selection methods, and analytical methods); results; and conclusion. For review or case reports there is no formal structure for abstract but is should not exceed 250 words. Keywords are limited 3-6 words or short phrases that will allow proper indexing. 

 

Main Text

The main original article should be structured as introduction, methods, results, and discussion (IMRAD). Methods should explain the what, how, when, and why the study was done. It also should include the statement of approval by local ethical committee. All statistical methods used should be described in detail in this section. In result section, data should be presented in a concise way, either in figures or tables. The authors should not rewrite the content of the table in result section. In the discussion section, author may discuss their findings. The conclusion should be the end of the main text articles.

The case report should be structured as introduction, case illustration, discussion, and conclusion. Case illustration should briefly resume the patient’s medical history and the important findings during admission. The evidence-based case report have same structure but  before discussion, it should contain the literature searching and the summary of evidence finding. 




Preparing illustrations and figures

  • Illustrations and figures should be numbered and cited in the text in sequence using Arabic numerals (i.e. Figure 1, Figure 2, etc)
  • Illustrations and figures must not place in main manuscripts. It should submit separately in different documents. 
  • The format of illustrations and figures 
  • The total number of tables (and figures) in one manuscript is 6 (six). 
  • Illustrations and figures should be uploaded in correct orientations
  • Figures (or illustrations) title (max 15 words) should be provided in the main manuscript not into the graphic file. 

 

Preparing Tables

  • Tables should be numbered and cited in the text in sequence using Arabic numerals (i.e. Table 1, Table 2, etc)
  • Tables should place in main manuscripts.
  • Tables should not be embedded as figures or spreadsheet files
  • The total number of tables (and figures) in one manuscript is 6 (six). 
  • Table title (max 15 words) should be provided in the main manuscript not into the graphic file. 

 

References

References should follow Vancouver style. 

 

Conflict of interest

The author must declare if there any conflict of interest. Funding sources for the work should be described specifically with the explanations of the role of those sources.
